One word: TASTE! Oh lord the taste of the chicken here is immense. It is defiantly one of the best tasting chicken I have eaten anywhere in Melbourne and it boasts the best for takeaway chicken. Not only this but the managers are very generous with their chips and usually load those crispy, crunchy, chicken herb battered chips into your takeaway bag for you. They are probably the best TAKEAWAY chicken store in Melbourne and are very fast and prompt with their service. The chicken almost peels off the bone and into your frothing mouth for consumption. Some words to describe the chicken by some customers were: delightful, mouth-watering ,enjoyable, luscious, yummy, pleasant, titillating, nectareous, gratifying and the quality is enough to be "fit for a king".
The chips are slightly above average, and are not as good as Croxton Roosters or the almighty HotRock (which are known for their chips) but they do the job. However the fact that they purposely jam pack those chips right in front of you to purposely demonstrate and exhibit their generosity slightly makes up for their quality. Their salad is average and service is almost always rushed and usually don't like to talk to you more than 10 seconds but it is usually swift.
They don't have many tables available inside the shop about 1-2 which are usually meant for people waiting for their takeaway and there are about 3-5 tables outside which they don't usually encourage you to use. They usually pack up the tables outside at 7.00-7.30 latest before they close and they are usually stingy with the cutlery and especially stingy with the napkins.
There is optimal parking for a good amount of time and right out front and are decently priced. Again about $10 for half chicken and chips.
Overall I highly recommend Preston Chicken Sack for takeaway chicken only and minimal chips however the taste of their chicken is godly and can be described by some as "heavenly and sanctified"
